Right im posting as i cant find much on the subject

I currently have a 200 TDi fender and goes well but a good friend of mine has the dreaded 19J 1990 90 and is hoping to put a 200 TDi in in the summer

Long story short is there anyway he can turn the pump up similar to what i have done on my 200 or isn't it possible on the 19j

If he is swapping the engine in the summer, wind the turbo up to the stop and adjust the pump and have fun while it lasts

Why change the engine if it s going OK? 19J's will run for years if serviced properly and won't chew up your gearbox like a tdi.
Seems like everyone wants to say they've got a tdi.

They are very slow and struggle to pull out of junctions safety

I had one!!
And yes they were very dangerous, as fast as a snail.

Maybe you live up north where everyone drives slow!!

My mate wants to put a TDi in as they have a lot more power and have better fuel economy and he struggles off road with the power aspect when climbing hills etc

Needs to learn how to drive then! :D :D

Power is not the answer to everything!!:p:p

85hp v 107hp, assuming they are not worn out.
Anybody had a 19j or tdi on a rolling road? Much more torque on a tdi, which is what chews up gear boxes, but each to their own, if you have spent a small fortune on a tdi you are bound to defend your choice.

That what we are trying to find out

But instead of people spending time to do it they put a TDi in which is the obvious thing
