Just finished a test drive with everything hooked up.
Pressing fog light switch now connects 280Ω to pin 6 and 7 at the pump.
Tuned it for lots of power but just under where it starts operation black out...

Overtook other cars up a hill for the first time ever in this car!!
Overtaking has not been in my mind while driving this car before... not even downhill.

Quick and strong throttle response, 1.2-1.3 bar boost pressure, i can get it to 1.5 by tuning it up a bit more but everything goes pitch black in the rear view mirror..

3£ variable resistor and 2£ relay. Some cable, and a piece of plastic box to fit it in..

Hi folks!
Just tried this on my 98 auto with EDC here in Sweden..
I put a 1KΩ pot on pins 6 and 7 on the socket at the pump. Red and green/pink on mine.
Turned it down to about 280Ω and the idle goes up to about 1100rpm. 250Ω and the engine stalls..
Out on test drive the car pulls like crazy compared to normal, also leaves a nice thick black line of smoke trail behind....
I will use the front fog light switch(fogs removed with the bumper..) to power a relay that closes the circuit whenever i want to play red arrows air show or just needs a bit of extra pull..

If you go down this road it might be a good idea to keep an eye on the temp of the engine...

all you need is a variable resistor put across 2 of the pump wires, this can be done under the dash where the wires go into the ecu costs about £1.00

you def need a etg as you could melt something.

sounds easy Hifly, I'm not electric minded enough to try it besides this is my main vehicle.
I may leave it a while till I can find some one that knows what they are doing.
I can't be trusted with most things especially this!

Think I will just keep with my chipped ECU it came witha 2 year warranty that states if it brakes any other component it gets fixed.

what chip have you got?

No idea I got challenger 4x4 to get and fit one cost £300 though but befor I had the head off polished the ports, polished the inlet manifold and cleand all the crap out the inter cooler put it back on the rolling road it went from 115bhp at the wheels to 148.3bhp so worth it.

ya not cheap on the 300 as the chip has to be unsoldered from the pump and a new one soldered in.

Na the chip is in the EDC ECU. it's still a bugger to get out unsolder then solder in the new one. At the time I was working a lot so did not have the time to do it my self . but in the fule it saves it's worth it same as the extra power and a lot cheaper than a 2.8 or a bigger turbo and inter cooler for similar gains And no black smoke. The only down side is you have to service it like its a religion,, as that much extra grunt cant be good for the engine if you don't .
