No problem and if I were (was) from the UK I was, since yesterday evening, already on my way up to Scotland to go and find Ron.:D :D :D (Just kidding).
 
Well its fitted, told the insurance as well.

There is a difference, freelander now feels more nimble but wouldn't say it blows you away, but then I am comparing it to my Mondeo 130bhp TDCi 6sp which is a totally different vehicle. Certainly makes the freelander feel like the 4x4 it should have always been not breath taking but certainly a lot more driveable more easily and smoothly.

Just have to watch the fuel consumption now as its tempting to have a little prood on the acelerator. Thanks Ron very simple, cheap and effective product that I would recommend to all!
 
Mine also arrived this morning but will install it only something like next week or so, no rush for me as my maf working fine for the moment, bought it mainly to have it ready by the time the maf dies and needs replacement by a Pierburg. (It's not a tuning unit I bought, just a mafam MF75p). What I wanted to ask is what that one probe does that comes out of the device (see the yellow arrow and the detailed picture of the top of it on the right) it looks like a sensor to me, it has a red dot on top but don't know what it serves for ? Any idea or do I contact Ron to ask for details on this ? And guess that Allen key serves to remove the airfilterbox? Ciao.

 
Think you'll find that, that is yer ambient air compensation, cos the data for the pierbourg is not the exact match to the bosch , then to replace its linear curve air is measured as a prefix , simple really,normal earth physics. . .;)

Oh Ming almighty, thanks for the info. and is it, in earthling's words enough to have it hang just in the enginebay or has it to go at a specific place such as the airfilterbox so that the device knows what temp. the incoming air has ?? (I thought to have read something about making an hole in the airfilterhousing and put a sensor through it, blocking the rest of the hole off with siliconekit or something but thought it was for L series diesels, not Td4's ??) Ciao.
 
It is best to hang it outside the box,just make sure it is not hitting anything,but at that rear part all is safe, and please give a feedback to your findings ,the air box is a fiddle to take off and even worse to put back,so be patient with it, might pay you to change the filter at same time [just a thought],but to be safe send the mighty RON a e mail to confirm he is very helpfull guy ,also have you got the pierbourgh yet if so,how much, and also to rememberWillo you have to cut a bit off the plastic cowling cant remember the amount but its on RONSweb site ,and please don't bow to me and say your not worthy, when i.m on your earth just wanna be one of the guys,best oh luck Willo.Ming the merthiless. . . ;)

Mings right! its not that important where its sensing the air temp, But once you have the air box cover off i found it just as easy to drill a 4mm?(just check the drill size), hole in the side of the air box(in front of the maf) and poke it thro, i found that, if the hole isnt too big, the outer sleeve of the temp sensor makes makes a good enough seal to hold itself in place without any silicone and it just keeps everything neat and tidy

Thanks a lot for your inputs, will see what I can do to have such a 4mm hole drilled. My thinking is that the airtemp. used to calculate the number of diesel to be injected is better the air of inside the airbox (cooled by the intercooler) rather than the outside temperature in the back of the engine (much too hot). But will send a msge to Ron to see what he says about.

Re the Pierburg, no I haven't one yet, as I said in another input my Bosch is for the moment still working very well but as Ron said his Mafam can be used with both brands (Pierburg and Bosch) I thought to buy one (and install it) already to be ready when I'll need to change the maf.
