Hello all, new to Landyzone, although I've reading with interest for nearly a year now.
Does anybody have any experience of TU3b tuning box for Rover and TD4 engines.
The device is sold by 'Roverron' on T'bay, he has lots of good feedback on the sight and a few from TD4 owners.
I just wondered if anybody on this site has come across it.

Welcome mhaze!

Fitted one last year:D you'll be surprised he ammout of difference it makes ........... :D

and if you have any probs with it, Rons help and backup up is first class.;) even give you yer money back if you aint happy

Go for it !!!!;)

Cant say enough good about the tuning box - I usually have mine wound right up to setting 7 and get piles more power but also get better fuel economy (don't need to be so heavy footed I guess). Mine is off the car at the moment and it seems a real disappointment every time I drive it (will be back on ASAP). Give Ron a shout - he's pretty helpful and seems to know his stuff.

The one i use is a mal cr box made in Germany, had i known about rover Ron I'd er gone wiv that, but that said this gismo is the dogs, an earth Friend er mine had a full flash upgrade on his td4,cost him er packet he test drove mine und i his, and even he admitted there was absolutely no difference tween both motors. . . .:) :) :)

Well Guys, thanks for all the info, looks like I will have to treat myself to one of these little box of tricks this week.
Will keep you posted on the results. ;)

good fer you mhase dont think you'll regret it;) :D

looks like a bargin or not ???

Car Mechanics reviewed it in their October issue and are publishing a follow up report in the Feb issue on sale in a week or so.

Their conclusion is:

Recommended!
So our verdict is clear and unambiguous; this product really does do EXACTLY what it is claimed to, and we therefore have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending it to anyone with a Rover 75 diesel. It’s also extremely good value – especially bearing in mind that the standard Rover Powerplus upgrade costs around £450….

Its exactly the same one for the Td4 and also now available for the PSA hdi and Ford Tdci etc.

Woh,f'kinell. Bought the TU3 and fitted it this weekend, what a difference, the TD4 is a different car now. Roverron is very helpfull even chucked in a long allen key for the air filter.
As I said in my ebay feedback, Roverron and his little box of tricks are the DB's.
:):):)

How do you go on with your insurance on these?

I'm too unlucky to risk not telling them (although never had an insurance claim or crash, to date, [touch-wood!])...

I told Royal and Sun Alliance that i was thinking of doing it and they wouldn't cover it at all...

My opinion of insurance companies is pretty low, legalised bandits if you ask me! At best they like to take your pants down and if you tell them about this little gizmo, they will only use it to make your botty sore!!
If your involved in an accident I think the Police are only interested in the vehicles road worthiness, the insurance will only find out if they send an engineer out to inspect the vehicle, so that can see if they can avoid paying out, see above.
