Thank you! They are but wiring is quite different. Does confirm where that fork sits though. Look how clean your wings are!!!

steering column is in. What a bastard. The lower hole here is screen wash to the rear. Any idea what top one is?! Right next to brake booster

Looks like a tube is going in there on one of my pictures. It will be so much easier after next week as I’ll have another disco for reference

Speedo cable….???

It’s alright taking photos but unless you have them all to hand and neatly marked it can be a pain. A spare motor will help.
What you doing with this doner??

Some how Iv been requested to look at a S3 to rewire with a new loom. Owner has already removed the old loom…. Bet there’s no labels that’s why he called me.

Im not entirely sure yet. I’m going to use it as a van for a bit but it won’t be a donor. I’d like to keep going with d1s. Maybe repair and sell a couple, break the rotten ones. See how we go! I also need to tick an RRC off

A lot of the disco is the same as RRC,chassis the same, body mounts, floor, front end are all the same design. So once you done 1 the RRC would be easy.

I don’t know where you get all this time.
I still don’t have enough time to build my rear tub cover. (5years now working away does not help)
Have you used Ali mig wire before ?

I haven’t no but I’m going to upgrade to a parweld at some point and the one I was looking at actually doubled up as tig. I’m going to see what the welding shop can do for me when I’m out of gas. I’d like to learn tig anyway.
Yes a lot of the RRC stuff transfers over but you got the skins to mess about with on doors etcZ
Time wise I try and time cutting and welding so that it’s not in antisocial hours. Sometimes that leaves me little time to do noisy stuff. The other bits I try and get a couple hours in after the babies gone to bed and before I do! It’s a good way to get rid of the stress of the day.
I’d like to get to a point where it becomes a side business and you never know it may even become a main one!

Forgot you done some crazy things..
House/baby//dog/young lady/job change.
The nipper next door is sleeping better so can make a bit more noise on evenings. I’m the same don’t have a garage just a big steel framed carport with electric garage door

Clutch slave cylinder (which I obviously don’t have) looking at pictures of autos I can’t see the hole. I’ll just wait until I’ve got the other one, put together what I know and go from there 😂👍🏻

Been putting the random spare hours in on my other D1 but project premium is not forgotten.
Couple weeks ago, I took my seat apart to fox the heated pad, bolster and then re-colour in near enough the same colour. I also switched the lumbar support to the other side which allowed me to fit the extra touch of luxury 😎

Collapsed bolster sorted out I then re scrimmed the leather that sat on bolster and repaired as much damage as I could. After that it was the long process of re- colour. This was done with binder, air brush colour then a sealer to keep it all locked in.
I just need to condition it now.

Evening prep work. Taking dings out bonnet and prepping bits for epoxy. All corrosion removed. One dent is a bit tricky to fix. It’s on edge right by the brace. Smoothed out but quite a low spot. Annoying as the rest is near perfect now. Going to leave it for now and give another sand and block another day.
A pillar taken back to bare metal due to surface rust.

Make sure you seal the giant hole, right on that last pic, bottom edge, between the pillar and your tape. Follow that WHOLE seams right trough the scuttle and down the pillar.

It is THE most common front footwell water source!

Welded up both mate. I always dig the sealer out and re- seal (have on my other) but this one I decided to weld up! Bit ugly but it cures the issue!
