Good evening guys n gals.

Ive heard a few people in the past say that when a diff has got on them or they have broke a half shaft they just stick it into diff lock and drive home on the good axle!!??!!

Is this true or bull?

I drove 100 miles with diff lock engaged as one of my rear prop shaft UJs gave up the ghost. Kept the speed under 50 mph and avoided wide throttle openings. I could do that as I removed the entire prop. Driving with a smashed diff or sheared half shaft might cause other damage if done over any distance. If a rear half shaft goes on a series, just depress the yellow knob and it'll be in 'front wheel drive'. Again its a 'get you home' measure only.

true ,you could drive like that for years if so desired,is a little more clunky on taking up drive as diff lock collar, is designed to be a loose fit to allow easy engagement

Honest. Must have been hard - she kept shouting “I can’t ..I can’t ...it’s too hard and it hurts”

This is the gods to honest truth

True. I've done it. But it's a limp home option, not a crack on its fine option.

Bad things happen when it's the centre diff though. Very bad, very bad. Curiously, it was about thirteen years ago when it happened to me, and the very next day I was given my first LR, the one with the dead transfer box. I've never been the same since.
