I have been trying to find some sort of protection guard for the back of my 88' S3 cab. There are heaps of dog guards around, but I am looking for something to protect the cab from any (accidentally) moving cargo, something along these lines. I want to keep the hood on. Does anybody know if LR ever made one, or did they seem to think the cab wall was protection enough?

Tub bulkhead is what protects those in the cab, depends what you are carrying but would not take to much work to fit a mesh over the windows.

On the front hoop 2 pieces of box & 1”mesh will work well.
Even if you take the roof off the rear is still protected.
Never saw a proper made landrover made 1 before

They didn’t offer anything like that back in the day and even if they did they’d be like hens teeth.
