Hi.

So I'm trying to fit new ICE into my car, but can't begin before starting off with removing the old head-unit. So I did that and got a new fancy one. Before I fit this, I've got to fit the obligatory double din adapter.

So I recently purchased a 'Connects2' double din kit for my 2004 facelift.
Part No: CT23LR01A

CT23LR01A Double Din Facia Plate for Land Rover | Car Audio Direct

It didn't come with any instructions.

I tried to mate up the Freelander specific plastic part, and it doesn't fit, by just a few mm on the plastic pegs on one side that protrude from the car dashboard. (screws go either side of this). Seems a bit weird, as otherwise it's obviously designed for the car.

My question is, am I doing something incorrectly, got the wrong part, or do you think it's a dud part and I need to send it back to the shop?

I wanted to ask you guys first, as I don't want to start blaming
the shop of the manufacturer when it could be me at fault.

The part says it's for 2004 onwards, which is the facelift.
:scratching_chin:

Cheers.

I would just file the holes out to suit the lugs(but do both side a bit rather than one side a lot) pressumi g everything else mates up..?

But now youve got pics on here you could allways mail them the link to see for tbemselves and double check it is right.. (id also add a couple of pics with the tape across the lugs etc)

Thank you to everyone for all of your feedback.

Filing the dash pegs (or cutting slot in the dash kit), I hadn't thought of that so a great idea.

I needed your superior wisdom and can now try and get to the next step.

Cheers.
