Over heating yet again, not long changed the rad, and the pump, so going to try cheep first, thermostat!! got an OME one last time about 3 years ago maybe 4 ... who knows, I am going to take it to the man, throw £300 or £400 at it, to sort the over heating out, and get a new injector

Have you checked the viscous fan, if thats not working properly, that will give you overheating problems.

No I haven't... never seen the thing spin ever, worth looking into, I think Data or wam gave me a pdf thing to sort it, but it was beyond me, electrics are just not my thing cant get my head around electric

Its not electric , its driven by a thick liquid ,and if its not functioning, it doesnt cool the liquid in the rad.The way to test it is to get the engine hot, stop it,push a rolled up newspaper into the fan about an inc and start engine. if it shreds the paper its ok if the fan doesnt turn then its U/S and needs changing

I think it could be that then, I will give it a run in the afternoon when its hot and do that

Just tested it... it definitely fubar, like you said stuck the newspaper in and it stopped turning, even did it with my finger and no resistance on it at all, how long its been like that I dont know, but must have been a long time, thats for that, thats one less thing

You can hear my new one roar like a jet engine at first startup. Then it goes quiet as it loosens up. Only really seems to get used when you come down from motorwards speeds to a stop quickly. Or towing on hills.

Engine hot?

I got the OEM one from Island. I wonder now if the Land Rover one is quieter because I don't remember my old one ever being this loud. Mind you, at least I know it is working each morning!

If its petrol you can buy a new centre . if its diesel you have to buy the whole fan, just paid £70 for a new one off ebay for a diesel

ovalandrover his feedback was iffy, got one @ Total Parts £67 I trust them more and a few ££ cheaper, the one I ordered is a Allmakes, so at least I know its not a **itpart they had a Berchmark as well for a few penny's more (looked exactly the same) he wont sell Britparts
