Can't seem to get the air out of the clutch system. Bleeding at the slave cylinder still leaves me with a peddle that must be triple pumped for effective clutch release. There must be a better a better way. The master cylinder and the slave cylinder have both been replaced. Any ideas will be appreciated!

My usual way is open nipple and wait for gravity to do its stuff. Have you got the master rod free play right?

I did redo that. Now it is adjusted so peddle is all the way up with just the 3/4" free play of slave adjustment. The problem is when I pump the peddle enough (2-3 times) for a gear change, then the peddle doesn't hold pressure when my foot is on it and down to the floor.

Series 2/2a slaves are vertical @Lee T .
Does sound like you have a duff replacement master and is allowing fluid to return to the reservoir when it should not. That is if it is not leaking out somewhere.

How much freeplay on the master push rod?
Is the flex okay?

Thanks for the responses! The manual says like 1/16" before the rod contacts the piston. I think it is about negligible now in an attempt to get more peddle travel. Flex hose is new also. I am going to check the master again to see if it will hold after being pumped. If it doesn't, is it trapped air compressing again or a bad master?

If you pinch of the flexi and pedal still goes down you can eliminate trapped air in rest of system.

What make of master cylinder have you bought ?
The ones made in China have a bad reputation for failing straight out of the box.
Having said that, I ran one of them cast iron Britpart m/cylinders on my clutch for 10 years maybe longer

No, nothing to do with slave. If pedal still goes down with flexi pinched off it has to be a master issue. [ there is a tool to do this but careful use of a mole grip works.

Okay, maybe this is getting somewhere. What is a mole grip and how do I use it?

Okay, What is a mole grip and how do I use it? I am using a vise grip plier to clamp off the flex line.

It is the same thing, Mole is just the original maker, a bit like hoover for a vacuum cleaner.
Does the pedal still go down all the way now? even slowly.
Oh, just read your first return post. No air, likely fluid passing back to reservoir due to internal fault.
