Yes, I kept the standard filter, but replaced the silly rubber tit drain valve with a proper 1/2" 1-way valve.Trewy, from reading this, I take it you kept the standard airbox and filter.
I was thinking of connecting my aluminium ducting directly to the flexible at turbo inlet (binning the factory filter and airbox)
and putting this on the top of the intake tube as a filter.

Maccydees car park. The only thing that worries me is water ingress from rain etc as there won't be any
drain on the system.
Do you or any of the other bright sparks on ere have any views on wether this is a good plan or not????
I decided to make me own for 2 reasons. First off, they're expensive to buy for what they are. Secondly, I think it's very difficult to get a proper seal to the outside of the wing and the plastic mouldings inside the wing are a poor fit.
I used a length of 70mm flexible ducting (cut into 2 pieces), a length of 2.5" plastic downpipe and 2 downpipe 90 deg bends. Also needed were some jubilee clips and some strip ally (to make the brackets).
I got the top second hand from flea-bay for a tenner.
The total cost was less than 30 quid and it works - I tested it by putting a plastic bag over the top and the engine stopped.
Am reet pleased with meeself.
It's not as close as it looks in the pic (the camera shortens perspective) and it follows the line of the original pipe. The flexi that I used is heat resistant to 150 degC, so I think it will be OK.Looks good mate , only one thing bothers me though and that is on the last picture the pipe looks very close to the exhaust down pipe, are you not worried that it might melt or worse yet catch fire???

No, it's well clear of the eggsorst and the ducting is rated at 125 degC.would the heat of the exhaust not melt the plastic and is it blocking the vent??
