that was almost very helpful-
my beast is only 10 years old and touch wood , shes a good un- but given that we will be packed in like sardines with kids and luggage and i'm using it to get to place to place til we get there , need to have something that can at the very least get us all home again.
have driven in france and spain but CZ and Hungary a bit more off the radar for me
none of those places will present much of a challenge, my 20 year old 110 managed to get to Budapest (and back) last year - wasn't impressed with the place, full of bullet holes and people speaking an odd language
the church dug into the side of the hill over the water in Pest (or is it Buda) was worth seeing

A Tomtom Euro sat nav could be very handy. Maybe a bag of spare fuses. Basic phrases can be got using google translate.... EG...Oi garlic breath, me Landy is fooked, where is the nearest garage?..... Ma voiture est cassé où est le garage le plus proche.
The problem with trying to be a smart arse is the selfish gits tend reply in the native tongue... I reckon if they want your money they soon speak English.
