Hi all
Dont know if this is a coincidence but the wife took the freelander out yeaterday and came back with the traction control and ABS warning light on! Cant see any thing under bonnet. Wires and levels are ok. Is it serious and more to the point is it expensive? Could i tackle the problem? PLEASE tell me its a fuse!!

Hi I have an intermitnat fault on my FL.
ABS, TC and HDC lights come on all the time in the winter...........summer they never come on!!
I had the car put on a diagnostic computer last year..........said it was the shuttle valve??? Never got to find out what that was as my garage changed the ABS ECU...........problem went away for a few months but it started up again..............I just ignore it now.

Best bet is to get it to a garage n let them put it on their diagnostics computer..........at least you will know what the problem is.
LR1796, Ming or Mondo may have an idea what it maybe thou?

as LR says - common fault - several threads mention possible causes - can be a bugger to find correct cause sometimes. Read the threads lr mentions and do a search on TC" and "ABS"

good luck

You need to get the car on Testbook to read the actual codes,if it is logging shuttle valve issues, then before anyone gets carried away with prices of modulator blocks or rebuilds, have the battery and charging system checked out.Have seen a few now where the battery is on its last legs and just after start up a fault gets logged - Shuttle valves sticking. On Testbook I can sit pressing the footbrake all day watching the valves opening and closing perfectly. But that is after some garage or customer has driven 10 miles to me and the poor dying battery is up enough to cope.
Like I said,it needs to go on Testbook to find out.
