Hi all,

So i've acquired an ex-mil '86 110 with the 2.5 N/A engine and LT77 gearbox. I've noticed the whine especially above 40mph is quite loud on this landrover vs the '94 that I had. There is barely any soundproofing whatsoever so this could be why. When I take off the inspection plate it's obviously a lot louder.

Is this normal? If not, what could be causing it?

not sure tbh mine howls a lot worse but is fine

Ok, given me some peace of mind. Thanks. Perhaps the LT77 is just like that? I'm struggling to remember how loud my other defender was but I think it had better soundproofing.

mine has the LT77 also tbf yours sounds sweet
