Hi . May sound dumb but how do I see that ? Goes into all other gears fine and smooth . I’m a novice but learning quick . Thinking of dropping gearbox and stripping but want to look at all other areas first if that sound right . Would that be on diagnostic computer ?

i borrowed the one from a friends garage when i had the auto box, could see the pressure changes as the solenoids operated,
i eventually gave up on the auto and changed it to a manual

Tell us what car you have,Vogue is a trim level, is it a TD6? Your wasting your time and money if it is,the GM gearbox is crap, i think thats what Phil is asking.

I just don’t want to give up on it and look to get rid if I can fix it or it’s going to have to be a loss and look to get another but newer . I like this shape so would look at getting a last year model of this shape which prob be a 08 or later depending what year it was before changing . Or get a sport which my misses likes but I’m not to keen . As I said don’t want to give up on this one .

Ok sorry didn’t see that link but now read it makes sense . Would anybody know if it’s easy to replace part and if so any idea or links to know where I could get that part from . Cheers

Normally the box is repaired... :(

Ye think what I was trying to say was the clutch shaft part it’s self so I could repair it . I know it’s a special job but think I have what it takes I hope . Cheers

I understand mate I do but if you were to repair the broken part and there were any debris or something you missed and after all that work refitting the box, transfer box, propshafts and oil everything up only to find out it was a waste of more money and time adding to the pain of the whole thing. It is your choice and if you can do it, try so. Myself, I would go for the rebuilt box, save for it, sell a limb/child/dog. Get a loan.... But... At the end of the day it's your choice and your coin.
