Hi all,

another part number question.... I ordered a new bearmach brake drum for the handbrake, along with new shoes and the spring kit.

What I don't seem to have is a new drive flange with my new brake drum. Is the drive flange only held on by the single grub screw? can anyone tell me the part number of the drive flange, as it doesn't seem to be listed in the parts catalogue for some reason.

There's also a pin holding a big brake shoe lever to one of the old brake shoes, but I'm assuming that's easy enough to recover and re-use.

Thanks

Adam

drive flange isnt part of the drum, its held on by the large nut ,drum is secured to flange by a screw or 2 when props disconnected,
its rare you need to replace rear flange frc5438 but you want 4 x frc3602 as well

Thanks James. Yes I guess it's not at all worn, I just didn't know if all the circlips and what not had to come off to! If it's just that poxy grub screw then I should be able to recover the original.

There is a massive nut in the collection of "handbrake drum bits" and I couldn't figure out what it was for!

I should check back through my photos and see if I remembered to take some of that.

Thread revival time! I built up the new handbrake kit this week, and also noticed that ashcrofts fitted a new drive flange as part of the tbox refurb! Do'h.

Anyway, I notice I've misplaced the 4 bolts which hold the handbrake backplate onto the tbox... are these a standard size @jamesmartin ? Hopefully I don't need to order specific lr bolts.

the 4 prop bolts are frc3602 they are a special bolt in that the shank is a specific length they are 3/8 unf

I think I didnt explain that very well James. Not the prop bolts in the drive flange... the 4 bolts which have a slightly irregular layout which hold the transmission brake plate to the transfer box... nothing to do with the drum-side. I make it AFU1400 - That's part number the catalogue gives me.... there's a photo on google when searching for that part number which shows a flange bolt which is about 25mm long.... no sign of a diametre measurement though. I have a bag of bolts from ashcrofts which may possibly contain the right ones, but obviously want to make sure I identify the right ones. Actually, as the tbox went to ashcrofts without the hbrake attached, so it's probably not in that bag....

they are m10s std 1.5 thread ,but head is flanged with serrated locking surface they are afu1400

Thanks James, that sounds like I can probably find the right bolt in my collection, and use a bit of thread lock in place of the serrated surface.

Thanks

Adam
