Looking at a 2010 110 at the moment to buy with a 2.4l transit engine in it.

Fuel economy looks like it's supposed to for a mobile breezeblock, but can it sit at 85 on the motorway?

Is the later 2.2l variant worth it ( from what i read there is no power loss, still sitting at 120bhp )

Any feedback on the engine in a defender from anyone would be appreciated

Yes, top speed is limited to 90mph. That is as much as a fender chassis can take. So if chassis and running gear is in good order and none of the ponies have escaped you can sustain 85mph.

I believe the capacity was reduced to 2.2 litres to help with ever tightening emissions requirements. Power and torque were kept the same as the 2.4 litre by adjusting the engine management characteristics.

Don't mention on here that you will be exceeding the speed limit - some of the members are likely to cry:rolleyes:

The only vehicle less aerodynamic than a Defender...
