both front wheels turn prop when only one is jacked up rear on the ground ,would sound like buggered vc , if you apply park brake and hand brake what then ?

I have a second hand transferbox .I locked the rear out put flange and turned the front with a bar i can now see the difference thanks for your help cheer Pete

in which case you could just unbolt old vc housing from yours and fit the other as long as its not seized solid

ok thanks i will change it over .I will let you know how it goes the other vcu turns with a nice even steady force I will do it in a few weeks thanks Pete

Hi just changed the transfer box to day the old box was well nackerd vc- bearings black burnt oil. its very quite now so thats ok but still not locking in top gear any more info please thanks pete

Stick it on diagnostics maybe the lock up solenoid in the gear box is knackered.

Hi i put my p38 on testbook today showes no faults,I had a look in engine ecu by battery and it had a cold start relay fitted so i removed it and cut the resistor off between 2 wires that went on the relay,I then joined the 2 wires grey with thin blue line and it would not start at all. so i put a new resistor in line between the wires and all works fine and locks auto box in top gear ,How can something so small do all the problems i have had ,I wonder how many p38 auto boxs have been changed for 6p resistor thanks for all your help Pete

You mean an hot fix. I suggest you look at it with testbook again, this time on the EDC there should not be a resistor in that line. You may have a ECU temp sensor problem.
