Got a new disco tranny today to replace my nackered defender one, removed handbrake cable and drum, speedo cable and diflock linkage, but I am having a mare getting the hi lo linkage off, from what I can see there are two 13m nuts on the f shaped linkage and the bottom one needs to come out so I can pull the leaver from the linkage, but I can't for the life of me get a spanner on it, I have removed the gear box tunnel and removed both panels from under the drivers seat and middle seat but it's still very tight, any tips on how to get this bugger out? Apart from this it seams like an easy job, also is the oil seal for the input of the tranny the same as the output of the gear box? Thanks in advance guys.

and drain oil first if bottom fixing holding t/box to g/box from front to back on drivers side is bolt as it will leak oil otherwise

Cheers James will give that ago tomorrow.

Cheers beardy89 but I I'm defo not gona remove box and tranny as I'm doing this by myself:)

is it in and finished yet ?

Cheers James it is in now was a bastid to lift in, ain't alf heavy,I sat under the truck balancing it on a jack while my two year old boy pumped the jack till it was in pos(so proud of the little man hes a proper landy boy, loves working on the landy, hoping to take him to billing, he will be in landy heaven) using four bits of threaded rod was able to line up and slide in, removing the four bolts on the lever gave me the acces to undo the bolts on the high low linkage, thanks for that tip your the man:) still got a clunking on gear change but noticed one of the gearbox mounts was snapped so just waiting for the part to arrive so I can replace hopefully will solve my clunking noise, once again thanks for your help James.
