When changing up from 1st to 2nd, the transfer lever pops out from hi to neutral.

This only started this afternoon, we changed the gaitor on the lever this morning cos it was shot, and moved it around without using clutch (but i dont need to do i when engines off?)

Any ideas? Its not a crunchy screaming popping out, Just does it when clutch goes down.

Cheers, all

Have you made sure it's actually in gear properly ie main box in 1st, push the transfer box lever into gear while slightly letting the clutch out so it clunks in nicely?? Usually when they pop out it's cos they weren't in properly in the first place;)

Soz I assumed you were talking about yer disco but then I noticed it's in the series bit. Which one are you on about?

The gaitor is not letting it go into Hi fully, had it on mine, bit of faffing about with the gaitor such as moving it forwards a bit then re tightening the bolts will cure it...

tah CodB, but, tried that, cut the gaitor so the lever has full movement. nothin. And it only does 1st to 2nd not on any other gear or when engaging reverse either

mine does that the first time you re-engage hi box after bein in trator mode, it pops out just as yer pull away, i just dip clutch and push it right in to hi box while still rolling forward and thats all it takes....... sometimes the rolling forward bit i hampered by trailers and hills like.....

edit: come to think of it i'm probably still holdin it in hi while takin me foot of the clutch untill it pulls away again, its easier if you get the passeger to do the steering at that bit.... :D

Tah for that, it was behaving abit more when we went back out.

So, instead, tom's fabricated a bracket and its not going anywhere now. We wont be needing the low range for a very long time, so he's gonna make something we can use for in the future to be able to put it into low.

Struggle enough driving it being small dont need it popping outta drive down the main road!

Cheers for help/info

oh yeh, heres a piccie as we aint put one up yet since we got it....

smooth even layers, light layers lol Sponge rollers are better if your rolling it. panel by panel. If your doing a pattern, mark it with chalk
