Hi All,

So I was just leaving Halfords car park when I heard the dreaded crunching noise coming from underneath followed by total loss of traction! Managed to park up safely and tried to move again by putting it in gear. Let out the clutch slowly and all I could hear was a grinding noise!

Was just about to call the RAC when I thought to try it in difflock, which worked, with no grinding or crunching!

Therefore assuming it's the transfer box.

First question, is it ok to drive like this or should I remove the rear prop shaft?

Second question, could it be anything else?

I've checked here and other sites and there are conflicting views!

I've ordered a recon tbox which is being fitted on Monday, but any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Mo

its unlikely the transfer box ,prop or one of the axles, see which prop spins when its in gear and not in diff lock

Well, just had a quick look and the front prop is spinning while in normal drive. So is it likely to be the front prop?
