I'm changing all my fluids at the moment as I'm not sure when they were last done (if ever) and so far have done the gearbox, only issue here was I got 2 liters out and only managed to get 2.4 liters in?
Anyhow I then moved onto the transfer box and this is where I'm stuck, literally! I've tried to remove the level/filler plug first before I drain and the thing is done up rock solid, I'm assuming I've the right one..a 1/2 inch socket fits in and it's right wedged up near the handbrake drum? There's the handbrake cable and pipe of some sorts going into the drum next to the socket.
Well I've had an 18inch breaker bar on it and I can't shift it, I don't want to start whacking it with me lump hammer because the haynes manual says not to over tighten it because its a tapered thread.
Is it normal for it to be this tight and what should I do to get it undone? I haven't tightened the main gearbox filler plug anywhere near as tight as this...should I do?
Cheers
