I have recently become not a fan of wireless due to having a system fail and cause the winch to jam on.

It eventually blew the main winch fuse

This crazy head of mine does come in useful once in a while.. lol.
I also have the option in mine to use a normal wire control from outside.. I think im going to make a circuit to stop accidentally 2 people switching opposite ways.

Sometimes it's handy to which in both winches. Ive never fitted a fuse to any of mine but don't trust the wireless ones much too much delay for my liking and when innthw crap the lease ammount of technology the better i have a wireless but hardly used mine is hard wired and a cutouts which works for me. Fuse did its job but its another link to fail whereas a nice rates switch is simple and keeps my winch powered down until I need to use it

On a side note I'm building this little 80 inch trials motor do I fit a rear winch?? Got winches coming out of my ears but I'm thinking of the weight 2 winches is a serious weight penalty to carry around especially if you comp safari aswell?? Think I may have to build a frame and make it easy to bolt in any other ideas chaps?? Seems to behaving a blonde week this week.

I run a cutoff switch on mine and winch is usually off but this time I waded with the winch on and the wireless control got wet and started the winch winding in

I worked it out, if you want 2 controls for a winch you can isolate the opposite direction circuit using a pair of relays

The extra weight on a light vehicle will make more difference than on a larger one, all comes down to if your gonna need it or not.

the complication of adding relays is not neccesary imo and will just lead to failure

its easy to know when your winch man is operating from the rear so just dont use your control at that time!
