Hi guys! I have a 2005 1.8 freelander, last week the battery died on me and I had to jump start it but since then the traction control light and hill descent light have stayed on, I took it to a local specialist who checked the fault codes and what came up was the brake light switch. I got him to replace this for me and the lights disappeared however as soon as he took it for a test run lights came back on, reset it a few times and tried still the same result. He then said to me as I had jump started the car I could have short circuited he ecu. Now I don't know whether this is true or not because sorting the ecu out will cost me big time! anyone have knowledge on this? any help would be much appreciated
Thanks.

As you only have those two lights on I'd be looking at the throttle position switch and the throttle cable setting
