hi i was told that steering tracking on land rovers is very hard to set up ,and someone like ats kwik fit are not the best places to go ,is this true ,any help would be gratefully recived as i need it doing, thanks
Looks like a fairly simple job according to the book - I'm going to have a look at mine soon 'cos the tyres haven't worn evenly. Looks like all you need is spanner, Stilson wrench and a stick.
hi ,my tyres are fine but my steering wheel doesnt center when driving straight ,it is a degree out which is annoying to look at yet it doesnt pull to one side ,i was told its the tracking? thanks
It's not the tracking - don't adjust the track rod. Loosen the clamps on the drag link (the one at the front that goes from the relay to the front left hub) and rotate the drag link with a Stilson wrench or similar. The balljoints are left and right threaded so rotating one way will lengthen the drag link and vice versa. Start off with the wheels forward and the steering wheel offset and adjust until the steering wheel is straight.
