I have a D2 and am planning on changing my grabber 255/55 R16 for the Toyo Open country AT3 245/70 R16 or possibly the 255/70 R16. I have 8J wheels with small 20mm outward offset currently.

I like the toyos as they are a 2ply sidewall as opposed to a stiffer 3ply BFG K03 tyre. The terrain here is not rocky so I would rather have the better ride quality of the 2 ply.

My main question is which of the two sizes is better? I have more or less stock suspension with rear springs. Would the 245/70 rub?

Maybe not cos the 255/70/16 rubbed just a bit at full lock on mine. The fact is that the closer to stock size the better for the vehicle
Where did the 255/70 tyres rub? I'm guessing on the front part of the front wheel well? Perhaps a wider offset can help this?

I've got these fitted to my D3 in 18inch and I've been very impressed with them around the farm. Have done a couple of long road trips with them as well and they're nice and quiet. £25 a wheel cheaper than grabbers as well.

Got them on my D1 315/75/16 deffo not as quiet as BFGs they do throw the stones that stick in the tread 30 odd feet in the air 🤣 🤣
