Just finnished wiring me electrics on the towbar and tested them on the caravan all working well but the warning light on the dash is not working . Do i need a relay fitting somewhere and if so what relay and where do i stick it.. :p ( now don`t get carried away with the last statement (where do i stick it ) boys be gentle please )

I'm just going through the same thing. Apparently there's a standard flasher relay and a towing spec flasher relay. Don't know the part numbers, but it seems that it explains the later included in the LR towing electrics kit is £70+ and the wiring only is £20 ....

I've found a couple of spares resellers which claim they have a Lucas towing spec relay for apprx £15 to fit the Freelander, I'm going to investigate before shelling out hard earned for a genuine LR part.

after looking at above post on where to stick it !!
go to any motor factor and buy a electronic caravan flasher/hazard unit 2+1/6 x 21 watt ( 4 pin to replace the old 3 pin relay ) . mine was £16 . then you get a green flashing trailer when you indicate .

Just to follow up on my fitting:
Witter detachable towbar apprx £195, LR electrics £19 and Halfrauds (yes, Halfrauds of all places!!!) £12.99 for a direct replacement relay (# 206) with the trailer warning connection.

1 hours fitting work and it's all on and working.

Useful info if anyone is thinking of doing the same.
