there is make sure you get one that is of good quality my cousin gets his offshore(rig worker) so you know they are good....

Id say 4 t up wards personally.And the reason ropes are prefered(or the towing strap i posted) is cos they ave a bit of give-like climbing ropes, to absorbe stress.Strops(like abseiling rope) dont have give, thats the way they are designed.
 
I generally prefer strops but do they make pulley blocks to work with a strop i.e flat wheel with fences rather than grooved?
