But do they offer a removable fix

They did offer a chassis rail replacement, if the owner insists on it. Not everyone will want an ugly bar on the back, which included me. Luckily my own D3 tow bar was fine, so it needed no remedial action.

I'm assuming yours should have been checked and fixed if necessary, as the recall was about 5 years ago now.

The funny thing is I measured hire shop trailer through their fence this afternoon, they were closed.
When I went for a pint I saw manager in the pub.

Told him I might pop down next week as I couldn't get the hoop on my discovery ball.

He said unfortunately you didn't see the towing end of our trailers, nearly all hoops ffs. He said they "might" have one with ball attachment

Looks like I'm back to this crappy thing off Amazon.
I'll also need to find something like that Dixon Bate ball & pin.

Well unless they do have a trailer

Amazon product

Not ideal but choice until I get it home at least.
Then i shall swap the hoop for a ball on the trailer. What a carry on.

Would anybody know, could I use the fixed towbar as a detachable? As in just use the centre piece?

Then could attach a ball and pin flange?

I'm only towing perhaps 350kg tops.

I suspect it's possible to do that as a temporary measure. However you might as well just bolt the side braces in too, as it only 4 additional bolts. You could then remove the bar again when your finished towing the ring hitch trailer.

It looks to me like the same fitting as the detachable which is rated at 3.5t and from what I've read, LR still happy sub 2t. Surely it's viable nodge.

The QR tow hook is rated to tow 3.5t. The HD tow bracket fits into the standard receiver and has 2 additional side braces. Those side braces are a belts n braces approach, but it makes sense that the tow hook would work without the side braces fitted. Just be aware that the braces are likely needed, for the bar assembly to be approved. ;)
