long time no type

My D4 has a removable tow-hitch which needs a key to lock/unlock, but this is missing.
The LR peeps tell me that I should remove it when not in use or it'll corrode, but when I asked if they could supply a replacement key they said I'd need to buy a new tow-hitch.
Obviously I trust their word completely, and I know there's no way they'd try to profit from someone else's misfortune or lack of knowledge. But just to be on the safe side, can anyone confirm this?

You can buy a new lock assy, people seem to nick them easy enough so it cant be rocket science to get them off without a key!
