Hi on my old 110 i have large general tyres,so much so that the height of the vehicle is much higher,i have a drop plate to put on but its still going to be too high to connect to a trailer, apart from the obvious answer-put smaller tyres on- is there anything else i can do to connect the trailer -caravan to the truck? Thank you, jones

Is this you ?

Definitly need more information regarding what tyres for a towbar height and what trailer you are trying to tow that needs such a low hitch. And maybe a picture of your current setup. After that will be better placed to give advice. My towbar is a combination of the earlier upper tow plate and the later style for the lower. This gives a slightly lower than standard but not by much. If you go too low it acts as a plough as soon as you venture off tarmac.

I have a old mk1 renault master pickup and it just has a massive drop plate to bring the ball back down for low trailers.

Trying to imagine the scenario when a 10 hole drop plate isn't going to be enough to get the towbar at the right height and cant come up with one...

I have an old 110. Mine is on 235/85 16 tyres and has a Dixon Bate adjustable height tow hitch. I still needed a drop plate to tow a car transporter trailer.

Without you giving us actual tyre sizes or something real world to work off no-one can really help. Try measuring the height above the ground of the bottom of the rear crossmember. That and read the actual tyre sizes off the sides of the tyres. Also a photo of the towbar setup you have would help.

I repeat we need more information and photos of your vehicle, setup, and currernt towbar and also of the trailer you are trying to tow because it is so variable. As above needed a drop plate for his car trailer whereas I have a 110 hardtop with 265/75/16 BFG tyres and with my setup could tow car trailer with no issues. And my towball is not even on the lowest setting:

no not that big
but generally, i want to tow with my 110,so how do i get around that? is there a way?

i know about drop plates but i havent seen anything with enough drop

i have giant tyres so i just want to see if i can tow anything with the existing setup

No such thing as not enough drop, someone just hasn't looked hard enough. Regardless of how ridiculously "giant" your tyres are you can get a drop plate to tow. although if they are that giant and you want to tow with it I would advocate for retuning to stock otherwise it will not tow very well.
