Touch up or re spray

Hey guys
Had a price on touching up the major dinks of £1200, at a local restoration workshop, but would have a lot of random scratches still.
£2500 for a full respray.

Any thoughts? What would you guys do???

Does that include bodywork repairs? Seems a lot of money. Looking at the paintwork i think it would be near on impossible to match the colour. Id probably flat it all over and do a full respray

That's including repairs too, I have seen their work on a few other motors and they do come up stunning but if I do go for it I'm tempted to go for marine blue
 
Depends on your plans for your tratter, I'd be scared to scratch mine if I resprayed it:oops: That's what I keep telling myself anyway
 
I want a third option on the toll....


leave as is as it's an old land rover and designed to be rubbin through farmers gates and through hedges
 
As its a pick up so will most likely get used as intended ie crap dumped in the back etc I would just touch it up yourself.
 
Mine is going off for paint tomorrow. Ive stripped everything off and I've been quoted £600 or less for a full respray so your quote seems quite high. I've had quotes of £3k though

I had mine resprayed. £2500 Euros. Had to have some major repairs done as I drove it off some ramp's. Had it done about a year ago and it has some marks on it already.
 
All depends what you want
I had all the panels Prepared and painted while off the vehicle
bill was just over £3k and that not doing the roof
But its my everyday car and I wanted it mint.
 
I'd have a full re-spray but do it myself and save the money, I'm guessing that its used for carrying loads of stuff as its a truck cab £2300 is a lot of cash to spend and then scratch and mark it throwing stuff in the back.
 
I'd go for touch up, preferably a home job as others have suggested. Then again if you DIY you may as well go the hole hog and blow over the entire truck. If the vehicle is being worked then a showroom finish will just make everything difficult, you'd be worried about scratching it.

If you do decide on a home job then you'll also be better prepared if it needs any touching up in the future.
 
Any of the military paint colours / shades take your fancy?
I intend on painting by hand so I can touch up yearly / when damage occurs.
I know nothing about paint but a hunch tells me military paint may be harder wearing, also.

Another thing I'd be worried about is repairs being done that make it look visually nice, but other repairs not being done like rusty bits that can be covered and wont break through for a year.
 
Mates got a snatch 110 in the sand colour hand painted and I have to say it looks quite good even close up
