I Have A Genuine Landy 90 Jack, And Was Wondering, Where The Hell Do I Put It? Ive Looked And Have Sod All Idea,

Lol Ah Didnt Know That Either As It Came In The Back On The Floor, But I Meant Where Under The Car, Like Normal Cars Have Hard Points, Whats The Crack With The Landy :)

Look at the front chassis under the front bumper. you'll see an hole in each leg with rubber bung in em remove bung insert jack there 2 holes on the rear crossmember. for the same purpose

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww i see :D

under the main chassis rail at the front. or under the x member at the back. does the standard jack have a round thingy on the end? if so, remove the rubber bungs in the front of either chassis leg and stick it in there and there are round holes in the rear x member for it too.

i dunno, but i guess you could use em. ive got jackable sills in the way of mine... although i just jack off em ;)

arnt those tubular outriggers on the sides for the same purpose?

No, if you have the pillar type jack (some Defenders come with a small bottle jack that goes under the axles) it is designed to go in the holes below the front bumper or in the rear crossmember.

If using the jack on an older vehicle the rear cross member doesn't have much of a support above the jack hole. As they often suffers from tin worm it is prone to creasing under the weight.

That's true there's no way I could have jacked mine using the holes in the crossmember it would have just fell to bits.

Me neither I've just taken the handles off the bits of cross member I cut off mine the other week and there's half a bucket of sand, mud and rust on the floor under the vice. When I clamped it up it fell to pieces.

Does anyone know where I can get the chassis plugs from that plug the jack holes on the front dumb irons? Or the part number? Mine have fallen out somewhere along the line and I am a bit worried about the inside of the chassis filling up with rust inducing crud.

B&Q do cable gland covers which you can squash into the hole, couple of pennies each and will do the trick.

wish i could get my bungs out cos hey wont budge . I darnt tug too hard in case something comes off with them.I would like to be able to use my Hi lift in them , instead of keep having to use a trolley jack.

The chassis won't fill up with crud if you leave the bungs out cos the holes don't go into the chassis. If you have them fitted the dumb irons fill up with crud cos there are holes behind the bungs to let it all in, I experimented and found that if I left the bungs off then the holes dint fill up with ****e as much as if they were in.
