Hi guys,

Whilst traveling up the M25 early this morning I hit a lorry tyre that was laid in the middle lane, I didn't see the tyre until the very last second and had no where to go. My front bumper is totally wrecked so in need of replacing it. The tyre managed to get caught up on the rear diff housing and has caused a leak on the input shaft, so a new seal is on order.

I have had a look about for a second hand bumper but all the ones I have found so far have been in poor condition or completely crazy prices. I have had a look at Torque Performance 4x4's website and they do a rock bumper for £280+vat http://www.tp4x4.com/products/disco-2/rock-bumper-non-facelift/, it doesn't seem to be bad value for money. Has anyone fitted one of TP4x4's bumpers or know what their work is like?

Cheers in advance.

Haven't got any first hand experience of the bumpers but when I can afford some rock sliders they are the company I will go to. They are local to me and I have seen their kitted out Disco and it looks the biz.

Have had front bumper for over 3 years along with their tree sliders. Have fitted the rear bumper with NAS lights in the past 6 months. The front bumper took the brunt of a motorbike hitting the front corner when I was parked up and saved the insurance company writing it off cos the damage was limited to the bumper and support leaving all suspension untouched. Bike was travelling at 30mph or so, so bouncing off a rock or two at 5mph is no problem.

They are very helpful. First bumper I had, had some pretty poor powder coating and they changed it no questions asked when they saw it. Overall I would recommend them.

I'm looking for a new bumper and it looks like it would fit the bill!
Could even swing by my parents in Otley on my way to Keighley!!

Cheers for the replies. I have placed an order with Simmonites today, expecting delivery Wednesday. I'll post up some pics once its all fitted.

Well the Discovery is now back on the road. My bumper turned up quickly from Simmonites, very well packaged and no damage at all. Fitting the bumper was very easy, removed your old bumper, ali crush cans and the wheel arch liners then the new bumper blots on using 4 new bolts supplier with the bumper to the chassis where the crush cans bolted to. Very pleased with how well it looks on the discovery. I will try and get some pics up soon.
