Hi all. With what is becoming a regular occurence I had a breakedown on the way up to Belgium yesterday.
Only just changed the filters and oil the day before, also checked all the hoses, tyres fluid levels etc. and made ready for the 1000kms trip up...

Kaboooom! Totally Farcked over the Xmas break - costing me a small fortune already! Ha, ha, ha, ha infinitum...
Happy Xmas holidays all /)

It's quite an explosion. Obviously not just a question of the head gasket being blown, more the questions of how and where...:(

Whatever. It's 500 klms from home; 15€ a day 'storage'; going nowhere before Jan 4th earliest and will likely cost more than it's worth to repair.

Bah humbug!:)

I had a similar experience. After changing the radiator the top hose connection blew off a week later. I might have made a mistake in reconnecting it but why did it last a week? Long short cut short, I changed the radiator cap for a new OEM one from a dealer and the problem (which included the coolant level dropping by an inch and I now suspect was the cause of the old rad' blowing) and have had no problems since. The cap was not releasing pressure and it was making it's way out elsewhere. My local non franchised specialist has had similar issues with after market coolant caps and will only fit OEM ones in a Land Rover box.

That's some split.
From the picture it looks like the jubilee clip has split too, must have been some pressure there.

Lucky for me it was just the hose-no damage to the head or gasket. All good and now back at home with the Disco. Cost a small fortune in travelling and storage, plus the French are hopeless in organising....
