This story was posted on one of the LR groups on FB this evening. I suspect it won’t remain for long.

This a timely post as am planning an M57 and all running gear upgrade to Lucy. Sometime next year the Turner Engineering 200Tdi engine and all the shiny new ancillaries will be up for sale as a complete engine package. In the meantime back to genning up on M57 engines and which one's best to buy. I'll be completely rebuilding the chosen M57 engine and am a little excited as haven't built one of these kraut jobbies before...the only 6pots I've previously built are XK/XJ engines.

@Andy Warren , my horns work as have a pair of twin tone PIAA's

Seems to be an obsession with auto boxes. I hate them myself and would without a doubt have a manual.

Simplest and least costly conversion strategy appears to be buy a vehicle with gearbox and engine already together. Buy proven engine mounting kit for your chassis. A conversion plate from gearbox to transfer box. And if it's a 110 it appears folk use puma propahafts and Ashcroft half shafts and flanges.

My opinion is why not use the BMW propahafts with defender diff ends welded on my a machine shop with a lathe welder and balancing machine.

Any correction on any of the above very welcome.
