Just signed up and hope a few wise folk might be able to help me. I have a discovery TD5 and have given it to so called specialists only to find a sump guard covered in used oil, a stripped out bolt hole on the centrifuge oil filteer and bills galore. Recent MOT tells me I have to change out some rear brake lines so I'm looking to take on the job myself. I work away and will be back next week so will tackle it then.
Any advise, tips of the trade etc. would be welcome.

welcome to Landyzone.

Sounds like you need to start doing the work yourself.

Do you have a pressure bleeder for your brakes or are you going the second pair of hands route?

I don't have a pressure bleeder yet however checking out the web and I see that there are some hand vacuum models availabel for about £30 or so I also have a motor bike so it'll come in handy for bleeding those also.

I am asuming that this would do the job. Am away working at the moment so I'll get on it next week, going to pop into the garage that gave it the MOT and ask exactly what needs changing, I think I have a good idea what he's talking about.
