One of my front drive shafts needs replacing, it looks easy enough. Erm..well except there is this tool called lrt-54-026 it looks like 2 semi circles that bolt together. I thought that can't be much to buy, I searched online and only came across 1 place to buy it and that was in the US and it was $119 I fell over....I stood up again is this a joke I asked myself.

So the question is Firstly do I need it?, What does it do?, If I do is there a cheap one I can buy? I really don't want to pay a garage just cus they have a fancy jubilee clip..... now there's a thought could I just use a big jubilee clip? or make something.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, Choo.

If I'm correct, I think this is a driveshaft removal tool. The same effect can be acheived, using a couple of stout screwdrivers, levering against the inner driveshaft joint.

Levered mine out the sae way too. Needs a bit of constant pressure and shaft will pop out. Pic below of the shaft as it's just come out. Hub nut is 400Nm.
