...as they were so rotten they flexed and crunched when you stood on them.
Had to cut off the driver's side steps as the bolts were just spinning. It took longer to get the brackets on the chassis off than the steps. All done now and the car looks better without them IMO.
With the weight loss and improvement to aerodynamics, I should get an extra 0.1mph out of it at full chat and use 0.1 litre of petrol less every hundred miles... Also looks like a goodly bit of extra ground clearance...
So, should the bolt holes in the chassis have a bolt or rubber grommet in them if no steps are fitted: or do a just leave them open to encourage air circulation within the chassis rail?
