No forget my last post, booth farm is way off that which dumbiron posted, but I'm sure we did drive that, we went looking for tenterhill but it was no-go, and Chris/akita said he knew of the one which you linked to.

thats it kid.... remember when we went , it had been raining for two days solid , and it was a river not kidding , up to ya wipers ... the lads said they had never seen it that bad... :)

Maybe it didn't say booth farm? There was a bit of a farm building at the other end of the lane near a gate and cattle grid but it looked disused.

Must be it though, can see how it would have been deep, quite narrow but plenty of drop.

Thanks for the offer on the 10 spline bits mate, what's your plan for them?

there yours if you want them mate , just bid me on them . good diff and shafts, diffs been painted so not rusty, and i took it to work , put it in the parts cleanner then covered it in diff oil , so it wouldnt rust. iam starting to think that lane is not a byway then mate, oh dear.......

I don't know Jim, Im pretty sure the one we drive last night was the one dumbiron just linked to on streetmap, and it sounds like the one you drove BUT there was no saying could have said booth farm. So yes, I think you better had check. Especially if you look at the link I posted which has a few pics of the stream and little bridge. If it is that one then naughty naughty :emps1:

I Was hoping that someone else would buy them and/or you'd be stick with them! I don't need them but I'd offer fiver a shaft and 20 for diff, handy spares that's all!

done deal sam. £30... not my fault , when you are following people with memory map , you expect them to follow the byways... not happy about it now:mad:, will speak to the lads and double check...

Cool mate well just hang onto them for me and I'll get them off you when we're next out, ok?

And yeah, I mean everyone makes an honest mistake but washgates is pretty obvious I think. Urm, let me recap cos I'm sure I've been to the booth farm end.

Youre driving down a Tarmac road, theres nice smooth grass all around the fresh tarmac, turn hard right and you drop down a steep Hill, at the bottom there's two houses and the road goes to the right but you break off left onto a track, up the embankment and there's a gate there. Sort of light track in a field from memory.

We approched it few months back but I was thinking it was the washgates which I knew was blocked at other end so we turned back. Could it have been? Dont remember stone gateposts, but I know it was close to high edge raceway because it was Sunday morn and a lad drove past us, on the road, in a banger racer! So it must have been very close to the raceway!

Does that description seem familiar?

will double check with lads .. going offline now , going to see them , see what they say.. its looking like thats it thou..... the farm was to the left as you go through the river. only very short crossing , bit longer than a landy, but it drops down quite deep.

We will have to double check all the local lanes in the ares as many are becoming unusable to most other groups.walkers etc am sure the local authority will act on this. but otherwise good nite last nite even though we did only manage hollinsclough steps and the lane next to it. will be looking for next trip .think this should be a fording/wading trip after heavy rain

Sorry to disappoint but I only took two short videos and I don't think either are worth posting up as it was just so dark.

I'll post them if you really want to see them.... But I think they're crap.
