Mr Noisy

Coming in your ears.
y0 folks

Me and a few mates have been talking about trying to find some mystery fords around Derbyshire/South Peaks, got a few marked on memory map that i want to have a look at so am planning to go out for a look about.

All are welcome to tag along, max 6 cars i think for this one cos there's likely to be a fair bit of reversing and going the wrong way etc. As above its a recon thing really so it wont be an organised route with no wrong turns or ****ing about.

HOWEVER whilst im out im wanting to give Hollinsclough a go in the opposite direction, never tried it before. Its a difficult lane when you drive down the steps and up the rocks, tonight im gonna go the other way.

If youre not up for that you can easily meet us at the other side and walk down, get some videos etc, if you want to drive it then brill but its a sill basher :)

Might end up winching up, and ive got lockers. Whatever anyway, it'll be fun.

Not really sure of a start time, start point or whatever, but post up if youre game and we'll go from there.

Maybe meet in Buxton for a Kebab seeing as its Saturday night and then set off :D

Cheers.

Just me and dolf in mine and chris and his mate farmboy in his.

Had a look for a couple fords, drove tissington and a little one at tenterhill, tried to find another one at tenterhill Jim which is the booth farm one that you pointed out on the map but I'm sure it's closed, there's a byway there but we visited both ends and there's a huge rock placed in the way.

When you drove it did you say there was a little bridge there and the right of way takes you down the stream for a little while?

We didn't visit allgreave cos we were headed opposite direction.

Then we went to hollinsclough. Well, that was a challenge!

Took us at least an hour to get two cars up that steps section. Was proper hard work with the mud and ice. I had to winch up and then give Chris a couple of little tugs to get up the big steps! Is well worth revisit :D

Mike got a couple vids but tbh we were quite involved trying to get the cars up the ****er :D

mmmmm, where, booth farm is , you went along a lane then through , two stone walled posts that said booth farm on it , then drove straight through the river. didnt go down no stream mate... no big rocks ...... unless farmer has done this since.... does it come up as a public byway ??sounds like you had a great night, would of liked to see ya going up the fooker "good lad" lol.when you went to tissington , there was some good lanes over the road from there goes uphill through a gate " was that open " as they did shut it for a while.... :)

Hi Jim, I've just been reading about the lane over the road from tissington, but no we didn't spot anything unfortunately :(

Will check it out.

The lane I am talking about with the big rocks is tenterhill I'm pretty sure, has een closed for a while, but to my knowledge it's quite near to booth farm, this is why I just can't figure where you are talking about. Will have to have another look, I I get chance today I'll get laptop out and study last nights route.

Was a good night though, different to the normal laning session! :)

Hollinsclough – Washgates

This route is restricted in width to 4’6”. Vehicles of this width and more will not be able to use the route as it is too narrow.

We are aware that an incident took place on this route recently and have passed information onto the local police who are now closely monitoring the route. "

Oh yeah and Roystone Lane next to Ballidon Quarry, easy peashooter lane but a great spot to stop for lunch on a nice day! :)

Thanks dumb iron, that's definitely the one I know about and is the one blocked by the large rocks, has been open and closed a few times but both ends are blocked by rocks and look like they have been for a good while. Do you recognise this Jim?

There's PLENTY of reading if you google washgates lane, thanks for clarifying dumb iron. Now I know that what I have looked for for around a year is in fact what I was looking for and was in fact always closed.

Heres a link to pics

13 Washgate Bridge & Hollins Hill | Welcome

However, Jim, do you know where it was you drove? Was it nearby starting at the farm end? Cos that's near high edge raceway.

Hmmm.

i need to go and rest now, to many questions lol. my brain hurts.... the lad i went with just txt me , so seeing him ltr.... i will try and find out;)

Sorry Jim was googling so didn't spot your post. Yeah speak to the guy, ideally get a ref and/or a name.

Dumb iron, yes I think we did drive that. It's only a little splash but had potential to be quite deep.

IN FACT Jimbo, we drove down the gravel track through a field, through the splash and then almost immediately through some large stone gate posts.

Maybe it was that that you drove the opposite way?!
