my 53 plate td4 auto is being weird... I think
is this how it should be?
if when travelling at about 30-50mph, if i try to accelerate the revs go up but the speed does not go up as fast
If I were in a manual I would say that it feels like clutch slip but I have this auto at the moment
A little more information:..
If I am in traffic and going around 30mph it feels like it is in 3rd or fourth gear If is take of my foot from the accelerator it sort of coasts at around 1000rpm put my foot down and it goes to around 2500rpm and accelerates up then the gear changes and the revs drop.
There seems no direct link between the RPM and the MPH like I would expect to get in a manual
So is this how an auto box works with all it torque converters and such or is there a fault? ( I hope it is not a gear box fault as that would bankrupt me)
I am half looking at a MAF fault though I dont know why other than it has done 42k
Any help
Ed
If I can Ill try to video it so people can see what I mean
