........swearing
This is my Gearbox drain plug, should I be worried?
oil was good on level and a lovely metallic glint to it. no big lumps just that (engine man not good on gearboxes)
(Disco 2 manual TD5 with 108,000 miles 1999)
Only had vehicle 2 weeks and its always had a jingly jangly noise when cold, (like a box of spanners on top of engine) and also a chirruping sqeak both under hard acceleration, when I found the middle spider / UJ knackered on front prop I thought Ive found the jingly noise culprit;
replaced this afternoon, and the sqeak has stopped but the jangly noise remains......any thoughts?
Swore a bit too at the monkey who tried removing the prop with 15mm spanner for 14mm nuts and bolts - made my life far more difficult than necessary!!!
worrying amount of silicone around most joints in transfer box too, and she still leaks argh!!!
1 last question, do the head and block usually have hand-written numbers on them in magic marker or am I looking at a recon job?
Thank God I got it cheap!!
