Hi just wondered if people had anymore tips on stoppng the inner thread turning while trying to tighten up the nut. I ve done a search and got the turning the track rod one which didnt seem to work mind you that was just by hand, i used the ball splitter on its side to clamp the ball to the swivel housing but only worked alittle as is too thick really. Any ideas much appreciated ascoming to the end of a long day and a half replacing the swivels so don't want beaten by a ball joint:(

Clamp a set of mole grips around the ball/rubber boot. That's what I always do and it works fine

jack push joint up into taper or long bar pushing down if the other way up are the only ways you should do it ,hitting the end of arm near the joint is the best way of releasing a tight taper

Cheers all give it ago tomorrow, although I'm not sure i get the jacking method as surely that would just push out joint?

hit the bottom with a rubber mallet as ya tightening it up Usually works for me.

Well just resorted to the ol mole grips around the shaft (ooer) which gave just enough clearence till it was tight enough to nip up. Just glad the swivels all done :-S
