Hi Everyone could anyone give me a few tips on replacing my freelanders front brake pads any tips welcome as this is my first attempt:rolleyes:

Thanks Blippie,
I think I will have a look at the Haynes manual I have the Rave manual but fail to understand the part where it states bleed bottle etc, I have never done this before and i am a complete newbie. So anyone who has done this and can add anything that may help me understand I would be grateful for the advice;)

Reet earthling read the heinz manwell ,crack wheel nuts furst , raise er up chock it correctly[make sure hand brake is on tight] take orft wheel , split calipers [read manwell] wear a dust mask un wiff a dry brush clean all the dust orft , after splitting make sure yer tie up with string the heavy bit [otherwise you mite break the hose] before fitting yer new pads inspect the disc's ,now if they are vented type's you must measure how much they have worn against spec, if outa spec then new disc's must be fitted[easy job] you will notice a grooved rust collar on the outer circumference of the disc ,this should be removed wiff a file [porky uses a bastid] slob uses an angle grinder, as long as you get it so its perfect [stops squealing] . . . .put in yer new pads with a smidge of aunty seize on shims , make sure no contamination of pads un disc's, now is a good time to check for brake fluid weeps, any sign of this and yer caliper seals are on way out ,change asap. . . .put every fing back and pump brakes hard , then test drive.er helf un safety ,if doin any jobs ont gaylanders , must wear offical lz ppe , clean pair er thunders, wellie boots, silly hat ,rubber mask, thats it really . . . .I'm goin er bed :) :) :)
