Cool project Joe! :)
I will certainly consider it - it will probably be a year or two, it is one of those things where you really want the complete car - I would probably have to get one from the UK (maybe in Europe ? dunno) there just aint any that I know of in Portugal. I am sure a knackered kv6 (engine wise) is cheap enough in the UK - Just the cost of hauling it it back here - or - stripping it there and hauling the parts back. Trouble is there are so many parts that one may need that you may as well just get the complete thing. - and a spare L series freelander engine, and the 25 / 45 plate......... Probably not too expensive really when you think about it - probably cost more trailering the thing back here. A nice MOT failure would be good - pap it up for its test and drive it... :) (L series and other bits in back where the seats were that you threw away lol....)
Yes, will give it some thought and take a look at controlling the transmission ecu inputs where needed. Got a couple of projects on at the mo but... big hmmmm. it would be the ultimate freelander me thinks. (especially chipped and tweaked as intended up to around 140-50 BHP and 220-240 Ft/Lbs torque.....) Still awaiting my damn brake servo from the TD4 - it was omitted from the last delivery of parts by mistake (they are re-sending it)... yes, one for the future... I have the Lynx diags with full FL 1 range so have all the gear for actuator testing and diags (before and after purchase)
Then of course you have to make sure it will all fit, and be in the correct relative position for drive shafts etc...and a million an 1 other things.

You know anyone that wants a swap for my last project ? (Ready to go - complete with trailer and documents - fully removable rear cab leaving pickup bed (looks awesome) - all new tyres, full mechanical and electrical service - runs like new. body untouched :) :)_
It is totally original with the single headlight etc.
:D
