Hi

I would like to return my Holland and Holland Range Rover back to original spec by finding a set of Tintern Green Hurricane alloys. Does anyone know of a set for sale?

I could buy/swap for a mint set of 20" Storm Range Rover sport alloys with new tyres.

Thanks

Stuart

Not sure what the Tintern Green ones look like, but could you not source some standard Hurricanes and get them refurbed/sprayed? Might be a silly idea though!

I'd swap my Hurricanes for some 20in Sport rims!

I applaude your dedication to originality! Did the previous owner bin the original alloys for a set of 20"s? I would have thought a H&H owner would have more refined taste...

I've never seen a set of Hurricane's for sale in anything other than the plain silver, so unless you are mighty lucky finding the correct set will be difficult.

Respect is indeed due. Makes a pleasant change from "How do make my P38 look like an L322" or other such rudeness.

I havent seen any real ones, but I thought that they where hurricanes with the inside of the spokes painted.

I too have a (2000 year model) Holland & Holland, fortunately the alloy Hurricane's still look v.good. On mine I only have four as the spare is a typical Land Rover accountants steel wheel. The biggest problem I have (apart from the emptyhead vandals who scratched every body panel) is getting the Tintern Green spray cans and touch up sticks as these are now unavailable from Land Rover. I am told it might be possible to get our local insurance body shop to mix some up?? but no guarantee! if anyone has any of the spray cans to sell please contact me.
Recent work has included:
Four air springs, new ABS/TC ECU, replaced all rear brake lines and flexies to the front of the car, new offside mirror glass (Vandals). New power assisted stearing pipes, New air/con radiator and re-gas, All new pads, R/H Exhaust manifold, Heater matrix O rings, rebuilt high/low range motor, polen filters, spark plugs, leads, water hoses and a digital TV tuner to get freeview on the rear screens now that the analogue one is redundant after the changeover. Why do we love these cars! ;)

dont know where you are located; but we have a factors near us called Nuneaton Car Panels (I think) all they do is repair rections or panels and paint; usually for the trade but they will deal with ameteurs; they mix any paint to any shade to code for you, will match to sample; they'll even stick it in an aerosol for you if you dont have compressor and pot! Paint they gave me for the Rangie actually matched better than the LR touch up a previouse owner had used! Got to be some-one local to you that does the same; go talk to a spray shop and see who they suggest.

Ditto with me. My local paint supplier will also mix a shade either side, lighter or darker to account for batch differences. You take the 3 swatches out to the car and pick the best match. They will also put it into an aerosol while you wait, but the colour match is not guaranteed because the mix is smaller. So the best bet is to get 1/2 litre mixed and have some of it put into an aerosol

i saw a guy on ebay stripping a written off holland and holland a few months ago, he had pretty much everything including the wheels(was thinking of buying them myself!!) you might be lucky and find him on there if hes still got any of the parts.

Thanks for the advice on pain (I ment paint!). Hi Teflon from Nuneaton my grandad (aged 90 when he went and was a ten pint and woodbines man) Nuneaton has many good memories. will investigate the paint side wish me luck!

I'm a refugee from Stratford upon Avon..... wonder if I could sue Stratford & District council under the human rights act for ethnic cleansing, putting the community charge up to more than I earned a year.......
