Evening.
I am in the process of replacing a stripped cam belt. (many bent push rods !!!)
I have searched for the tension torque setting but only find results for Defenders (19nm) As there is an extra idler on the RRC / Disco engine I was wondering if the torque was the same ?

Thanks

19nm is right
Thanks for that.... it was a right bloody mess ! To much oil about the place, new seals all round before the belt goes back on. I have read about an O ring / seal under the cam gear washer ?
There was no evidence of one on mine ?

Going off long term memory here....is the washer silver coloured? With an o ring groove facing the gear?
If so, yes it should have one.

..... just bin for a look see.... yes, there is a square section seal in the washer, thought it was more crud ! see previous post...... something else for the list !
Thanks for the reply

Stud is the same on my disco unit.

All the bits have arrived.. now for the reassembly. If anyone should need one of the O rings for the cam gear washer I now have 4 spare ! Land Rover only sell them in batches of 5 !!
Thanks for the help.

Remember to apply a thin smear of grease to the crank nose before fitting the crank damper, makes life much easier next time, then make doubly sure the crank bolt is fooking tight as if they come loose in service they cause all sorts of issues and its not unheard of on the 200 motor, also good tip to paint a line on bolt head and pulley so when you service it you can see if its moved.

All good advice, thanks for that.
Just finished making a water pump joint.... Marshalls would only order 10 at a time !! apparently they don't sell enough of them.... no f***ing wonder !!

Well that's the old girl put back together.... fired up first time and runs as well as it did before it went tits up ! I even replaced the leaking cooler hoses.
Thanks for the advice fellers.
