Hello all,

So I have the crank at TDC, which also lines up with the flywheel, the fuel pump is all timed up, but whilst timing the engine I had taken off the cam lift off and managed to knock the pulley round, I’m not sure which way it went or even how I managed it.
It has spun round almost 180 degrees but I have no idea which way it needs to go, so I have spun it back round so the dot lins up with the timing mark, I’m now wondering, as there is no resistance with the cam lift off... can it be 180 out degrees out in relation to the crank? And if so how would I know?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure what you mean by 'cam lift off'' but I assume you are talking about the rocker arms so you don't have any valve spring pressure? As long as you haven't removed the pulley from the camshaft it should be ok just making sure that all the marks are in their correct positions
 
Cam pulley is keyed anyway.
I also have no idea what a cam lift off is either but presume the same as kwackerman.
The cam cannot be out if the mark lines up.

Good spot, I was thinking of the 300 as you can accidently adjust the cam timing if you loosen the three bolts on the pulley, the 200 doesn't have that facility.
 
Ah brilliant, the “cam lift” came from a you tube video.... but rocker arms would seem to be a fitting term.

Please excuse my lack of knowledge (and terminology) but thank you so much for your help and reassurance, I can sleep tonight now
 
I thought on the 300 if you loosened the three bolts (not the centre one) then you could adjust the cam timing relative to the pulley (similar to the FIP)?
no you cant unfortunately,it has slots as its the same pulley but it is located by a notch
