when i bought my 90 it had a stupid air filter fitted to it so i replaced it with a standard 200 air filter housing which is fine but ive decided to fit a snorkel to it. The only problem i have its a 200 tdi but my air vents on the right hand side ! i know im gonna have to get a 300 or td5 snorkel well this one .. LAND ROVER DEFENDER SNORKEL RAISED AIR INTAKE - WILL FIT 300TDI & TD5 LAND ROVER | eBay

has anyone else had to do this ? would i be best taking the 200 airbox off and running a pipe right round from turbo to snorkel ive seen this been done ?

thanks

Had to do this my self. Put in a disco 200tdinair box and then ran some piping to the air vent with a td5 snorkel

Get one like mine passes through the top of the wing so you drill the hole and put it where ever you want

Just ebay silicone air hose, bout £20 a meter for the twin ply then stick with decent clips and tigerseal

Give Southdown a call (they've got an ad on ebay). Really nice snorks, knowledgeable and helpful chaps and they do flexi hose and adapters. Or Google hyphose, they do a good flexible - I forget what it's called.

That ebay ad you put up is the same firm I got mine from they do a 200 one for the other wing so you wont have to muck about :D

It should go through the side air vents and bolt up to that no cutting involved the hole is already there what model of 90 have you got?

Sounds like the OP has an N/A that's had a 200tdi fitted The N/A doesn't have a wing vent. only option is a southdown thru the top of the wing or a military snork that fastens to the heater vent and a series wing vent is fitted to supply the heater with air.

Or buy a N/S wing for a 200tdi defender.

Ah that makes sense!
